History of Casa Madero
The history of Casa Madero is closely tied to the history of Mexico. The winery was founded in 1597 by Spanish missionaries who were looking for a place to grow grapes for wine. The first vines were planted in the Valle de Parras, which is located in a desert region. However, the natural springs in the valley provided enough water to irrigate the vineyards.
The winery was originally called Hacienda San Lorenzo. It was later renamed Casa Madero in honor of its founder, Don Lorenzo García. The winery remained in the García family for many years. In 1893, it was purchased by Evaristo Madero, who was the grandfather of Mexican President Francisco I. Madero.
Casa Madero continued to grow and prosper under the ownership of the Madero family. In 1989, it became the first Mexican winery to export wine to the United States. Today, Casa Madero is one of the leading wineries in Mexico. It produces a variety of wines, including red wines, white wines, and sparkling wines.

Tours and Tastings
Casa Madero offers tours and tastings of its wines. The tours take visitors through the vineyards and the winery, and they learn about the history of the winery and the winemaking process. The tastings allow visitors to sample a variety of Casa Madero wines.
The tours and tastings are a great way to learn about Mexican wine and to experience the wines of Casa Madero. They are also a great way to spend an afternoon in the Valle de Parras.

4 years agoGreat place to leant history. I enjoyed the tour a lot. Only bad review would be that the tasting is not included or that you don't get to taste the process like in other vineyards. Tasting is 300 pesos. Still. Very enjoyable. Place full of history. Oh and the church rocks!

2 weeks agoNot worth the effort. The 2.5 hour tour is mandatory, 750 pesos and 3 samples is not worth the effort…if Casa Madero is reading this…they have the staff, offer simple tastings

3 years agoThe place is beautiful! Because of the pandemic, you need to make reservations at least a day before for the tour but you can enter to the gardens and store for free. The church is very pretty too. The wine they sell is more expensive than the local wine you can find in Parras but still affordable
