Nestled in the rolling hills of the Carneros region of Napa Valley, Artesa Winery is a family-owned gem that has been producing world-class wines since 1981. Founded by Spanish winemaker Carlos Aguirre, Artesa is a testament to the beauty and artistry of traditional winemaking.

The winery’s vineyards, which sit atop a hill overlooking the sparkling waters of San Pablo Bay, are home to some of the most prized grape varietals in the world, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. In these sun-drenched vineyards, the grapes ripen to perfection, soaking up the warmth and flavors of the region.

At Artesa, the winemaking process is a labor of love. The grapes are hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness, carefully crushed and fermented in small, temperature-controlled tanks, and then aged in oak barrels to add complexity and depth to the wine. The result is a range of exquisite wines that truly capture the essence of the Carneros region.

One of Artesa’s most beloved wines is its Estate Bottled Chardonnay, which is made using grapes grown in the winery’s own vineyards. This wine boasts a crisp, fruity flavor with hints of vanilla and oak, making it the perfect companion to a romantic dinner or a special occasion. Artesa’s Pinot Noir is also highly regarded, with a medium body and flavors of cherry, raspberry, and spice that are sure to delight the senses.

But Artesa’s offerings do not stop there. The winery also produces a range of sparkling wines using the traditional Champagne method. These sparkling wines, made with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, are aged for a minimum of 18 months before being released, ensuring a level of complexity and depth that is truly unmatched.

As beautiful as the wines themselves is the winery itself, which was designed with sustainability in mind. Artesa has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, including solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system, and a sustainable irrigation system. These efforts, along with the winery’s commitment to traditional winemaking techniques, make Artesa a standout among California wineries.

Visitors to Artesa are treated to a truly romantic experience, with tours of the winery and tastings in the stunning, modern tasting room, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and the San Pablo Bay. Artesa also offers a range of experiences, including wine tastings, food and wine pairings, and vineyard walks, all of which are perfect for couples looking to celebrate their love of wine.

In conclusion, Artesa Winery is a truly romantic destination that celebrates the art and beauty of traditional winemaking. Its stunning wines and commitment to sustainability make it a must-visit for wine lovers visiting the Napa Valley region.

Kevin was an excellent host. He curated the perfect experience for us! He listened to our likes and we had the best mid-morning tasting while overlooking the stunning views from Artesa. We will be recommending this vineyard from here on out!!

It's fantastic. The view the cleanliness and the wine all together. Visited other wineries in Napa but this is out of this world.

We attended a tasting with a member, and it was a luxurious, spa-like experience in a gorgeous space with delicious wines.

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon ready to spend money. But they told us they were closing “in 15 minutes” and told us we were too late. Regardless, the parking lot was fully packed. We said we wanted to buy some bottles of wine to take home but the “concierge” said we could “have a splash,” while they let in patrons AFTER us (“members”)People all around us were enjoying wine, cheese, charcuterie, etc., and we sat there watching them eat and drink full glasses of wine. Members enjoyed a nice conversation and drinks AFTER we arrived. The largely pregnant hostess wasn’t friendly when she refused us and instead walked around talking to other people. We couldn’t even BUY a glass of wine at the bar. Our money is just as good as other money but I guess Artesa didn’t want it. Even after we told them we wanted to buy wine they ignored us. We won’t come here, and won’t recommend this place, no matter the view. The wine is average at best.
