Silverado Vineyards is a renowned winery located in the heart of the Napa Valley, California, that has a rich history dating back to 1981. It was founded by Ron and Diane Miller and her mother, Lillian Disney, who had a vision to create their own wines and showcase the beauty of the Napa Valley. Today, the winery is owned by Bill and Carol Foley, and it continues to honor the founders’ legacy and vision by producing estate-grown, produced, and bottled fine wines.
The name “Silverado” was borrowed from the historic vineyard that surrounds the winery and from the abandoned mining town at the top of the Napa Valley. Robert Louis Stevenson, a famous writer, once stayed in the area and wrote, “The beginning of vine planting is like the beginning of mining for precious metals: the winegrower also ‘prospects’.” This quote speaks to the winemakers’ passion and dedication to producing high-quality wines.
Silverado Vineyards was one of the first four vineyards in Stags Leap District to plant Cabernet in the 1960s. This early investment in the region has paid off, as Stags Leap District is now known for producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignons in the world. In addition to its original vineyard, Silverado Vineyards now owns three other storied vineyards across Napa Valley’s top AVAs: Miller Ranch in Yountville, Mt. George in Coombsville, and Soda Creek/Borreo Ranch. These vineyards, combined with the original Silverado Vineyard, make up over 300 acres of estate land.
The winery is dedicated to producing high-quality wines that showcase the unique character and beauty of the Napa Valley. The estate-grown grapes are carefully tended to by the winemaking team, and the wines are produced using traditional winemaking techniques. This approach to winemaking results in wines that are complex, elegant, and expressive of the land they were grown on.
In conclusion, Silverado Vineyards is a gem in the heart of Stags Leap District, and it has been producing high-quality wines for over four decades. With its rich history, beautiful vineyards, and exceptional wines, it continues to be a leader in the Napa Valley wine industry. Whether you are a wine lover or simply appreciate the beauty of the Napa Valley, a visit to Silverado Vineyards is sure to be a memorable experience.

3 weeks agoSilverado was the first Vineyard we visited on our trip and the bar was set pretty high for the rest of the Vineyards we had on our list! From the beautiful hilltop location to the great service provided by our host, this Vineyard has a lot to offer those who are new to wine or wine aficionados! We sat down for the ‘Silverado Experience’ Tasting and got to try 2 estate grown white wines, the Miller Ranch Sauvignon Blanc (2023) and the Los Carneros Chardonnay (2022). The Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and quite refreshing while the Chardonnay was extremely well balanced, this was a standout for sure! We also tried the ABEL Cabernet Sauvignon (2021) & the HENRY Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), as well as the GEO & SOLO Cabs. The consensus was we thoroughly enjoyed the fruit forward notes from the ABEL and the unique flavor profiles from GEO! Our host knew this wine like the back of her hand, she was extremely knowledgeable when it came to the winemaking process, the regions, and the history of the Vineyard.

3 months agoWe were in Napa to have a ladies weekend getaway and celebrate our friend's birthday. The estate is beautiful and breathtaking. Our host was Phillip. His casual, calming demeanor was a perfect bow to wrap around our weekend experience. He created a chill space where we could explore the various lines of Silverado wines and shared delightful nuggets about the history of the estate, the wines, and the terroir. It was a pleasure getting to know him, taste the delicious wines, and learn the estate's rich history.

a month agoOur schedule went awry due to the rain, and they were very accommodating. The wine was excellent, the experience was incredibly enjoyable, and the art and the property were gorgeous. I would highly recommend making a reservation if you are in the area.
