Vineland Estates Winery is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Niagara Peninsula of Ontario, Canada. The winery was founded in 1975 by Dr. Ivan G. Rebele, who had a passion for wine and saw the potential for producing world-class wines in the region.

The Niagara Peninsula has a unique microclimate that is well-suited to grape growing, and the region has a long history of winemaking. The region is influenced by the moderating effects of Lake Ontario, which helps to create a long growing season and relatively mild winters. This allows the grapes to fully ripen, which is essential for producing high-quality wines.

Vineland Estates Winery is situated on a 200-acre property, which includes acres of vineyards and a modern winemaking facility. The winery has several different vineyards, each planted with different grape varieties that are well-suited to the region’s climate and soil. Some of the grape varieties grown at Vineland Estates Winery include Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.

The winery is known for producing a wide range of wines, from crisp whites to full-bodied reds. One of the winery’s most famous wines is its Cabernet franc ice wine, which is made from grapes that are left on the vine until they are frozen. This process allows the grapes to concentrate their flavors, resulting in a sweet, luscious wine with complex aromas and flavors. Vineland Estates Winery also produces a range of red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, as well as white wines such as Riesling and Chardonnay.

In terms of wine making, Vineland Estates Winery uses traditional techniques and state-of-the-art technology to produce high-quality wines. The winemaking team carefully monitors the grape-growing and wine-making process to ensure that each wine is of the highest quality. The grapes are hand-picked at the peak of ripeness, and are carefully sorted to remove any imperfections. They are then gently crushed and fermented, with the winemaking team paying close attention to the temperature and other factors to ensure that the flavors and aromas of the grapes are fully expressed in the finished wine.

After fermentation, the wines are aged in oak barrels to add complexity and depth of flavor. The length of aging varies depending on the wine, with some wines being aged for just a few months, while others are aged for several years. Once the wines are ready, they are bottled and labeled, and are then ready to be enjoyed by wine lovers around the world.

In addition to producing high-quality wines, Vineland Estates Winery is also committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship. The winery has implemented a number of practices to reduce its impact on the environment, including using renewable energy sources, conserving water, and reducing waste.

Vineland Estates Winery is a popular destination for wine lovers, who can visit the winery to learn more about the winemaking process, taste a variety of wines, and enjoy a meal at the winery’s on-site restaurant. The winery also has a team of highly trained wine educators who are available to lead tastings and tours of the winery for visitors.

In conclusion, Vineland Estates Winery is a leading producer of wines in the Niagara Peninsula region of Ontario, Canada. The winery has a rich history, and is known for its high-quality wines and its commitment to traditional

We had our wedding at Vineland Estates Winery in September 2025 and couldn’t be happier with the experience. We initially booked in October 2024 with Diane, and in the spring transitioned to working with Leighanna for all our planning. I cannot say enough about how incredible Leighanna is—she’s super organized, responsive, and made the entire process feel seamless. We especially appreciated meeting with her in person to go over all the details before the big day. On the wedding day, Leighanna was there preparing with the team and supporting us through the ceremony. Afterwards, the service manager took over for dinner, and the entire team was absolutely fabulous. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the wedding was and how incredible the food tasted. Thank you to everyone at Vineland Estates for helping bring our dream wedding to life!

Beautiful estate with a beautiful view, but most importantly, the food was perfection. We got the $70 chef’s menu, and every dish we tried was well made and delicious. Favourites was the bread, beef chuck flat, and dark chocolate pudding. Great to visit for an occasion or worth a stop if nearby. Would absolutely come back.

A Hidden Gem Right in Our Backyard! Living in Jordan, we honestly don’t know how we hadn’t been to Vineland Estates sooner — but we finally went for Father’s Day, and we were blown away. The food was absolutely incredible — fresh, seasonal, and beautifully presented. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavour. It felt like fine dining without the fuss — just really great food made with care. The wine pairings were outstanding, perfectly complementing each dish and showcasing the best of what the estate has to offer. It added such a special touch to the entire meal. The grounds are stunning, with sweeping vineyard views and a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. Whether you're sitting inside or out, it’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and savor every moment. A perfect spot for a special occasion or a leisurely lunch. We’re already planning to go back — and bringing friends with us next time!

I’ve visited Vineland Estates many times over the years, for birthdays, tours, and tastings, and always spoke highly of it. Unfortunately, after this recent visit, I will not be returning. Our group arrived at 4:10 PM and was told we had enough time for a tasting before closing. One member joined us at 4:30 PM, and since our wines were pre-ordered, she simply came to enjoy hers. Everything went smoothly until exactly 5:00 PM, when staff abruptly began clearing our unfinished glasses and told us, “We have a hard stop at five, you need to leave right away,” even as we were cashing out for four cases of wine. Their tone was unnecessarily rude and hostile, completely taking away from what should have been a joyful family celebration. What stood out even more was the difference in how we were treated compared to other guests. From 4:10 to 5:00 PM, the same staff member was warm and friendly toward the Caucasian guests, yet dismissive and cold toward our group from the start. We are Guyanese, of South Asian descent, and while half our group was born and raised in Canada, the other half has lived in Ontario for over 40 years. Still, we were made to feel like outsiders in our own city. NO ONE, regardless of their background or how long they’ve lived here, should be treated that way! We were dressed up for a birthday celebration, a rare occasion for our family to come together, and instead of hospitality, we were met with attitude and bias. Because of how we were treated, we chose not to purchase any wine and will not be returning. It’s unfortunate that a place I once recommended for its warmth and charm has allowed such discriminatory behavior to overshadow what could have been a beautiful experience.

A very pretty location with Elevated wines. Tasting room a barn from early 1800's, great patios with views. Excellent knowledgeable staff, thanks Joanne. Terrific atmosphere and some very good wines!
