My husband and I went during the holiday season so the tasting room was a bit cluttered with boxes of wine for sale. The atmosphere however was relaxed and the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable. Our wine tasting was a great experience.

Very friendly and very generous! I'm pretty sure the tasting we paid for was supposed to include only 5 or 6 wines; they poured us something like 10 or 12. For some of those pours, they gave two of the four of us one wine, and two of us a different one, so we could compare. Upshot was that we enjoyed a fair amount of variety and had a very pleasant Saturday afternoon!

We've been in twice this season to tasted at Etude and both times the experience was wonderful. We tasted in the main room one weekend with Robert. He is super knowledgeable about the wines and vineyards. The next time we did the Study of Pinot tasting with Bob. It was a totally cool experience and Bob had tons of information about all the specific vineyards and regions. Both gentlemen were a ton of fun and really made the wine tasting experience one that stands out. Etude makes great wines

Beautiful grounds - We arrived 14 minutes before closing - so not necessarily expected to be seated but we did receive the snobbiest greeting imaginable and the facial expression alone was enough to say “we don’t want you or your business “ …IMO better people and better wine are out there…The Best are not arrogant but show love in all aspects of life… POST SCRIPT: Anxious to give Etude another visit due to the kind and encouraging response from Ownership/management! A lot has occurred in the meantime- sorry this response took so long! This is how good businesses act when critiqued harshly. I already sense a 5 star follow up…email coming…Matt

I have lived in the Bay Area for 14 years and visited many wineries in the Napa, Sonoma, and adjacent AVAs. I have also been a wine club member at many wineries. From my perspective, being a “good” winery comes down to two criteria: (1) Are the employees friendly, helpful, and supportive of you during your visit? (2) Is the wine any good? My opinion is that Etude excels in both of these criteria. The employees are very friendly, helpful, and supportive every time I visit. And their wines are outstanding. If you like complex Napa Valley cab and robust Pinot, then this is your winery.
