Darioush Winery is a Napa Valley winery that was founded in 1997 by Darioush Khaledi, who was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States in the 1970s. After falling in love with the wines of Napa Valley during a trip to the region, Khaledi decided to start his own winery.
The winery is located in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley and is known for producing high-quality wines using traditional wine making techniques. Darioush has a number of vineyards in the Napa Valley region, including its flagship property, the Darioush Estate Vineyard, which is located in the Oak Knoll District. The winery also sources grapes from other vineyards in the region.
The winery grows a variety of grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. Darioush is particularly known for its Cabernet Sauvignon wines, which are made from grapes grown in the Darioush Estate Vineyard. The winery also produces a number of other red and white wines, including a Sauvignon Blanc and a Pinot Noir.
In the winemaking process, Darioush uses traditional techniques such as hand-picking the grapes and using small, open-top fermenters. The winery also uses oak barrels for aging its wines, which helps to add complexity and depth to the flavors.
Darioush Winery has gained a reputation for producing high-quality wines that have received numerous accolades and awards. The winery’s beautiful tasting room and its offerings of tastings and tours make it a must-visit destination for wine lovers visiting Napa Valley.
In addition to its winemaking, Darioush Winery is known for its stunning architecture and design. The winery was designed by the renowned architectural firm, Hart Howerton, and features a mix of traditional and modern elements. The winery’s design incorporates elements of Persian architecture, reflecting Khaledi’s Iranian heritage. The winery also features a sculpture garden with works by artists such as Henry Moore and Richard Serra.
Darioush Winery is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its founder, Darioush Khaledi. It is a place where visitors can experience the beauty of Napa Valley and taste some of the finest wines in the world. The winery’s commitment to traditional wine making techniques and its focus on producing high-quality wines has made it a leader in the Napa Valley wine region.

a month agoMy husband and I had the most amazing experience. We are on our honeymoon, and decided to book a tasting at Darioush last minute. Little did we know, it would become our favorite winery. Not only is the wine amazing (definitely try Duel while you’re there), but the customer service and generosity is top notch. Israel lead our tasting, and we happened to meet Ryan while we were at the winery. Both gentlemen were the definition of customer service, wonderful storytelling, and kindness. Thank you both for making our day here so special. Thank you, Ryan, for the recommendations and “cherry-on-top” of our day. We will be back, and look forward to enjoying our bottle of Duel from Colorado with fond memories!

a week agoVisiting Napa Valley is always a treat, but every so often you discover a winery that not only lives up to the reputation of the region, but creates an experience that feels personal, elevated, and unforgettable. That was exactly what my wife and I experienced at Darioush Winery. From the moment we stepped onto the property, the aura of the place an elegant blend of grandeur and warmth set the tone for what would become one of our favorite wine-tasting experiences in Napa. The architecture and setting immediately drew us in. Darioush has an atmosphere that is both regal and inviting, with details that transport you to another world while still grounding you in Napa’s charm. The space is beautifully designed, blending Persian-inspired elegance with California vineyard sophistication. The moment we walked in, we felt a sense of calm, as though we were about to step into something special. And it truly was. The wine tasting itself was exceptional. Every pour carried a story, and each sip revealed layers of craftsmanship and care. The staff guided us through the tasting with an attention to detail that was both informative and approachable. They had a way of making the experience feel tailored engaging us in conversation about our preferences while also sharing the history and philosophy behind the wines. It was clear that the winery takes pride in not just producing incredible wines, but also in curating an environment where guests can fully appreciate them. The wines themselves were nothing short of stunning. Each varietal seemed to capture the essence of Napa while also offering something distinct. We both found ourselves leaning into the reds, particularly the Cabernet Sauvignon, which was bold, rich, and perfectly balanced. The whites, too, held their own, crisp and refreshing without being overly sharp. It felt like every glass we tried deepened our appreciation not just for Darioush, but for the artistry of winemaking itself. What made the day even more memorable was the vibe among the guests. Napa wine tastings can sometimes feel rushed or overly formal, but here we found ourselves mingling with fellow travelers from all over. The atmosphere was social in the best way easy conversations flowing as smoothly as the wine. Sharing thoughts and reactions with others added another layer to the experience, reminding us how wine can connect people across backgrounds and stories. We enjoyed it all so much that by the end of the tasting, the decision to become members felt effortless. The quality of the wines, the warmth of the environment, and the sense of belonging we felt all combined to make it an easy yes. We’re already looking forward to the idea of returning for the member barbecue, which promises not only great food and wine but also the chance to reconnect with the community we felt a part of that day. Darioush is more than just a stop along Napa’s wine trail it’s a destination that offers the perfect mix of elegance, hospitality, and unforgettable wine. My wife and I left not just with bottles in hand, but with memories we know we’ll cherish. It’s rare to find a place that delivers on every level: ambiance, service, quality, and connection. Darioush managed to do all of that seamlessly. Verdict: If you’re passing through Napa, do yourself a favor and visit Darioush Winery. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just looking to immerse yourself in the region’s culture, this is a place where the experience matches the reputation. For us, it was nothing short of amazing and we already can’t wait to return.

2 months agoBeautiful setting, but our least favorite winery of the day. Our final stop of the afternoon and the most visually striking. Driving through the gates felt like entering a grand Persian estate. We later learned the Iranian owner lives on the property, which explained the refined design and upscale vibe. The covered patio where we were seated felt private and peaceful, and the initial pour of Chardonnay came with seasoned olives and salted pistachios. But the experience was a bit underwhelming overall. The host’s explanations were difficult to follow, and the overall tasting felt more scripted than personal. The wine selection leaned heavily into bold, peppery varietals like Shiraz, which didn’t quite suit our preferences. Our favorite ended up being the Dual Blend—ironically, not part of the official tasting flight but offered upon request.

5 months agoHad a wonderful time celebrating Nowruz with my Persian friend at the winery doing the signature mezze. We were greeted warmly in front of the entrance by Tina. We were delighted to receive a cup of rose mint tea to start. Our host Christina went beyond and above explaining the wines info and history, the food plates ingredients and pairing, helping us taking memorable photos. The new year food options were delicious and authentic according to my Persian friend. The pistachio soup was beautifully crafted. Thank you chef for the attention to details using homemade recipes. The special small cookies gift and yummy pistachios were very nice. We hope to return next year to join the picnic lunch. Wines were delicious and excellent quality. Lots of changing characters in each sip.
